Clipper Blade Sharpening

While the methods used to sharpen your clipper blades are different than those used for your shears, the basic principles remain the same.

Clipper Blade Sharpening

We use a hone wheel for our sharpening. But, before we dive into some of the nuances behind sharpening your clippers blades, here’s a quick note on blade cleanliness:

“If you notice a dip in your clippers’
performance, don’t immediately assume it’s due to dull blades. While that is the likely cause, a surplus of dust, dirt, and debris may be clogging the spaces between the blade’s teeth. Brushing out any lingering debris and oiling them properly is the first step of the clipper blade sharpening process. As a best practice, you should regularly sharpen your equipment. Feel free to leave that to one of our sharpeners.”
